Last year, at the age of 40, she came to our fertility clinic for the first time. Before visiting us, she had undergone seven months of ovulation induction treatment at another hospital, but unfortunately, without success.

With an AMH level of only 0.8, she began an egg quality optimization program before proceeding with in vitro fertilization (IVF). Her first egg retrieval and embryo transfer were unsuccessful. However, she and her husband refused to give up.

After a thorough evaluation by Dr. Hui-Po Li, her treatment plan was carefully reassessed and adjusted. During her second egg retrieval, eight eggs were collected, resulting in two blastocysts that had not undergone preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). Following the embryo transfer, their long-awaited dream finally came true — she successfully became pregnant!

Since the embryo transferred when she was 41 years old had not undergone genetic testing before implantation, the couple considered whether to proceed with non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), chorionic villus sampling (CVS), or amniocentesis to assess the baby's chromosomal health.

After discussing the available options and potential risks with Dr. Li, they decided to undergo NIPT. The results indicated a low risk for the chromosomal conditions screened, bringing the couple tremendous joy. She has now begun routine prenatal checkups.

We sincerely hope that this precious pregnancy continues safely and smoothly, and that the couple will finally be able to hold their long-awaited baby in their arms. 🫶🏻

Wishing you a healthy and successful pregnancy from all of us at BRCIVF!
