We first underwent infertility treatment for two years at a well-known clinic in Shinjuku. Even with an appointment, it was normal to wait for several hours only to spend a few minutes with the doctor. I used to think that this was simply what infertility treatment was like—standardized, procedural, and impersonal. My wife would also say, “It’s always like this,” so I assumed that this was just how things were supposed to be.
Because of our age, my wife and I had even considered giving up. However, after hearing that reproductive medicine in Taiwan was highly advanced, we decided to give it one final try and visited Becoming Reproductive Center.
One of the reasons we chose the clinic was that Director Dr. Li Hui-Po had trained in the United States and other countries, and he gave us a very straightforward and genuine impression without unnecessary embellishment. After the consultation, I sincerely felt that choosing this clinic was the best decision we could have made.
The first thing the director said to us was, “Since you have come all the way from Japan, we need to make sure your time is properly arranged.” He then explained everything to us carefully from the very beginning. He discussed not only the positive aspects, but also the risks, important precautions, and the entire treatment process. He patiently checked our understanding as he explained everything, which deeply impressed us.
During the ultrasound examination, my wife was so moved that she said, “I could barely feel the ultrasound probe being inserted. It was incredibly gentle and careful.” That experience became one of the key reasons we decided to entrust our “final attempt” to Becoming Reproductive Center.
I have personally worked in the medical equipment industry for more than 20 years and have met many physicians, but there are very few doctors like Director Li who are willing to spend enough time to make sure patients truly understand their treatment.
The nurses at Becoming Reproductive Center, as well as the interpreter（she used to be a police officer in Japan!!）, stayed with us and supported us throughout the process. We could also clearly feel how harmonious and close-knit the entire Becoming team was. After our consultation, while my wife and I were discussing where to have lunch, the director and nurses enthusiastically debated which restaurant was better. The atmosphere was so cheerful that I could not help but laugh.
I sincerely recommend this clinic.
And the result? Even though we are an older couple, we succeeded on our very first attempt and were able to “graduate” from the fertility clinic!!
Now my wife’s belly is steadily growing every day. At yesterday’s prenatal checkup, the doctor told us that everything was progressing normally. Seeing our baby growing healthily has finally allowed both of us to breathe a sigh of relief.
Here are several things that especially impressed me:
- 1.We communicated mainly through LINE, and the response time was incredibly, incredibly fast.（When do you ever rest??）
- 2.Medication adjustments were explained in great detail based on the examination results we had obtained in Japan.（I believe this was one of the important factors in achieving pregnancy.）
- 3.The management of clean areas was excellent.
- 4.Most importantly, Director Li’s character and personal qualities were truly exceptional.
If our baby is born safely, once we are able to travel again, we will definitely come back in person to thank everyone at Becoming Reproductive Center!!!
